Ammut

Well, this was drawn a few years ago. At about three or four in the morning, I think. Coloured using prisma pencils.

About time for some information, I'd say.!

Ammut have an average height of 5'10", and an estimated weight of 2,500 pounds.
Ammut skin is very thick and almost rubbery in texture, their bodies covered with constantly growing spines and teeth alike, the skin in areas most susceptible to this growth is the thinnest, showing a reactive red and yellow at the continued irritation.
Ammut lack vocal chords, the sole noises they may make is the hiss of their breath, or perhaps the scraping of teeth on teeth as they move.
They are drawn to places with strong negative emotions, be it anger or fear, and places where blood has been shed. They are triggered by such things, what minute restraint (or whatever you'd care to call it) that may be possible for an Ammut to exhibit vanishing with the exposure to such scents.
They are anthropophagous, the preferred method of hunting and the act of consuming seems to vary between beast. Some seem to prefer the thrill of the hunt, chasing prey down. Others are more to the point, ambushing humans at their most vulnerable, creeping into rooms at night. A unified preference seems to be to frighten their prey, however. Causing as much fear as possible before coming in for the kill.
Some Ammut may swallow prey whole, allowing the rows of teeth that line their throats to tear flesh apart on the way down. Others are more selective in how they eat; like their mythological namesake, Ammut seem to adore devouring hearts above all else, some invest the time and effort to remove it from the body and consume it separately. Ammut seem to lack tongues, so it it hard to say just why they do this, perhaps it is the scent alone, or the texture of the muscle.
