Oh.It was a cold morning, frost glazed over the rough concrete beneath her. The sky was a glaring, bright grey. Overcast; no rain… no snow, either.

But- it was calm. Quiet. Safer? Hard to say with any certainty, though she had the top floor of the apartment for shelter, without any power she always woke up chilled to the core. Still, it was far better than the alternative. And better than any other season. Staring down the edge of the building at the still, but occupied, streets, she was struck with creeping dread at the knowledge it couldn't last much longer.

Just Don'tTheir mother wrapped her arms around Evi. "My girl…" she whispered, pulling her in close.
Evi didn't reject the embrace, resting her head against her mother's shoulder, too weary to do anything else.
She bowed her head, speaking to Evi in a soft tone—Cu couldn't make out what she was saying.

"…Yeah. I know." Evi's voice cracked horribly, when she raised her head the tears that had been fought back since the evening prior were now streaming down her face.

"Everything will—" she cut herself off, brushing strands of hair from her daughter's face. "You'll be alright."

The crowd around them all began to move,

It was a cliched night..."It was a dark and stormy night…" she began, pausing to gaze dramatically across the room at the two silent figures, obscured in the dark broken only by the flicker of a dying fire and the soft unnatural glow emanating from one of them. "…The trees moved in the wind as if following her every movement... stalking… hunting the girl as she headed past. All around, when not drowned out by the howling wind, she could hear a soft scraping. She thought she could see something other than an errant branch in the periphery of her vision. Thought… something else was out there…. She prayed she was alone."

It's been quite a while since I've coloured with the method I used here, but... that's the only way I could get her colours near correct. XD

Oh my~!
Aurera is quite a beautiful sight to see!
The coloring method worked wonders I do believe when you tried to get her colors "near" correct as you have said.

The expression on her face is one of unimpressed but also almost as if saying: "You want to try that again?" ♥
And finally the cute, yet simple white background just wraps Aurera in a kind of bubble to show case her as the main focus.

I tried a bit of a different anthro style when drawin her, just for the sake of keeping things fresh and different. I'm glad that the outcome was nice, and particularly that her slightly daring expression came through. ♥
